My name is Christine Abrahams and I am originally from Kingston, Jamaica. I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes at the age of 24 which caused me to develop retinopathy resulting in my becoming severely visually impaired 4 years ago (officially blind). In February of this year after many months of sitting at home with nothing to do, I got involved with the Blind Faith Forever (BFF) social group which is how I met Mr. Ansel Davis. Through interactions within our social group, I learned that Ansel is extremely passionate about elevating blind persons back to being productive and respected members of our society through retraining and the utilization of technologies that were not in place as recently as 10 years ago. Ansel’s dedication to enriching the lives of the blind gave birth to the Look Through My Eyes Company www.ltmeyes.org which is a non-profit organization focused on providing retraining and skill adaptations for the blind. Based on Ansel’s organized management of the BFF Social group combined with his being a professional engineer, I know that he is ideally suited to the task of putting together a successful training center and I look forward to being there when it comes to fruition.
Yours Very Truly,
